Periodic inspections

Periodic inspections of industrial extraction systems

Scheduled inspections for emissions, safety, and system longevity

Coro Impianti carries out periodic inspections of extraction and filtration systems to support companies in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and compliance conditions required by air emission permits.

Environmental permits may include technical requirements, inspections, maintenance activities, record keeping, and document checks. Within this framework, the correct operation of extraction and pollution control systems is essential to prevent operational issues, exceeding emission limits, uncontrolled releases, and unsuitable workplace conditions.

The main reference for air emission regulations in Italy is Part Five of Legislative Decree 152/2006, which addresses air quality protection and emission reduction. For many industrial activities, environmental compliance requirements may also fall under the framework of the Single Environmental Authorization (AUA – Autorizzazione Unica Ambientale), regulated by Presidential Decree 59/2013. These requirements are complemented by the general obligations for workplace health and safety established by Legislative Decree 81/2008.

What we check during inspections

Periodic inspections may include, depending on the system type and customer requirements:
  • visual inspection of the overall system condition;
  • inspection of hoods, extraction arms, suction points, and capture devices;
  • inspection of ductwork and any possible air leaks;
  • verification of the condition of filters, filter sleeves, cartridges, or activated carbon elements;
  • inspection of fans, motors, dampers, and electrical components;
  • checking for clogging, wear, vibrations, excessive noise, or reduced extraction performance;
  • inspection of discharge systems, dust collection units, and maintenance access points;
  • identification of required or recommended corrective actions;
  • preparation of a detailed technical inspection report.
When required, inspections can be supplemented with instrumental measurements, specialized analyses, or emission testing through qualified technical partners.

Concrete support for HSE, environmental management, and ESG goals

Periodic inspections help companies keep their systems under control and establish a more organized, documented, and planned management approach.
From an environmental perspective, they help prevent uncontrolled releases, reduce the risk of malfunctions, and improve emission monitoring and control.
From a safety perspective, they contribute to protecting workers from exposure to dust, fumes, vapors, oil mist, and airborne contaminants.
From a management perspective, they allow companies to track maintenance activities, schedule interventions, define technical priorities, and collect valuable data for audits, permits, internal inspections, and ESG programs.
A system that is regularly inspected is safer, more efficient, and more reliable over time.
